ILVC Weekly Update 4-12-21

April 12th, 2021

Dear friends:

Spring has been beautiful the past week or so in Mertro-Atlanta!  I hope you’ve taken a moment to really look at the gorgeous colors that nature offers us.   Just one week ago, there were no buds on the trees.   And at the end of this week, there will be total shade again in my back yard!   It’s so wondrous!

On a personal note:  Many of you know I am a musician as well as painter/artist.   I’ve let the music production slide for the past almost 6 years.   Sometimes the glow of what you’ve always done becomes less brilliant.   I fell into that trap.   BUT,…

I signed up for an online class with Monthly.com.  I’m learning Electronic Dance Music Production from Kygo.   He produced Whitney Houston’s “HIGHER LOVE” track that was a big hit last year!   In just the past three weeks, I’ve learned SOOO much!   The goal of the class is to produce THREE songs.   I’ve already done two that are from Kygo’s demo list.     My third will be an original.

The whole point is that I’m feeling so much joy in doing something that I’ve always loved, … and doing it better.   So, if you have something you’ve always loved, that you’ve stopped doing, if at all possible- DO IT AGAIN!   Learn from someone else who has done it a different way and it adds a whole new sparkle to what you’ve always loved doing!    I hope my story inspires someone to do something wonderful again!

And- I’ll share links to my songs here when they are done so you can hear what I’ve learned and produced!   Until next week- do something you enjoy!  Life is too damn short!

All the best- Doug
